rosuna Posted August 22, 2009 Share #61 Posted August 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) With results which are already soft from AA filters, Canon and Nikon can accept more smudging from noise reduction than other companies are willing to... I don't find the Canon/Nikon high ISO results attractive at all. You should see them. They are impressive, considering the ISO. The softness is easily corrected in post processing. I don't like AA filters, but it isn't an serious issue, if you work in RAW. Leica doesn't want to do any post processing in camera, regarding noise. I think they should, at least for fixed pattern noise and chroma noise (with care).

adli Posted August 22, 2009 Share #62 Posted August 22, 2009 Leica doesn't want to do any post processing in camera, regarding noise. So, why does my camera say "Noice reduction" all over the LCD screen after I take long exposure shots....
rosuna Posted August 22, 2009 Share #63 Posted August 22, 2009 That is the exception to the rule. It is a noise easy to substract.
