chasing up a spare part from Solms to Milton Keynes

19th June: D-Lux 4 sent to MK for new back plate , 22nd June : repair authorised. 15th July: Camera still sitting on repair dept shelf (waiting for the new back plate). As I write this, seventeen working days have elapsed, although evidently the back plate will be coming from Germany - not Japan.

Just wondering how much longer I might have to wait. Is this a typical experience for spare-part availability generally - or an exception?

My experience with Milton Keynes is the the smallest unit of time that they recognise is seasons of the year.

My Digilux 2 was with them for five months, and my M5 took even longer due to the non-availability of a spare part. My 35mm Summilux ASPH has been with them for a couple of months.
