tomcat Posted November 22, 2006 Share #23 Posted November 22, 2006 Thanks, guys. Brian: The 2nd to 4th shots were taken during my recent holiday trip to Yunnan, China. The 2nd and 3rd shots were of an outdoor performance in Lijiang, one of the cities on the itinerary of this trip.
tomcat Posted November 22, 2006 Share #24 Posted November 22, 2006 Sorry, Brian, I forgot to add that they were all shot in RAW and converted to jpeg using SilkyPix.

Ronald Weissman Posted November 23, 2006 Share #26 Posted November 23, 2006 What settings did you use for these images? They are wonderfully sharp and the color is terrific. Did you use a polarizing filter?
tomcat Posted November 23, 2006 Share #27 Posted November 23, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had basically shot in Aperture mode, typically at f/8 or f/9 and had set the Film Mode to 'Nature' for stronger reds, blues and greens. That's about it. It does helped quite a bit when there are deep blue skies with wispy clouds, bright sunlight and colorful people and environments though. Here's a few more samples. The rest of the pics are in my PBase album here for those who are interested: Yunnan Photo Gallery
wda Posted November 23, 2006 Share #28 Posted November 23, 2006 Steve, your shots are stunning, particularly the cat pic. Did you shoot raw? David
Enrique Santa Posted November 23, 2006 Share #29 Posted November 23, 2006 Incredible pics, steve¡¡, I enjoy with them too much, and make me dream to be there. Thank you for posting.
tomcat Posted November 24, 2006 Share #30 Posted November 24, 2006 Thanks for viewing, David and Enrique. I absolutely enjoy shooting while on holidays overseas. Could never ever get such exotic photo opportunities in my own country. David: I shoot RAW most of the time. And if you like cat pics, here's a couple more taken with the L1 and Leica 14-50mm kit lens. I'm learning the ropes with this camera though. This one is at ISO 400 because he was in a rattan enclosure and I had shot in available light.
fboyd Posted November 26, 2006 Share #31 Posted November 26, 2006 These were shot with the 35-100mm 2.0, Great Lens, but heavy. Welcome, dear visitor!
