Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 10, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 10, 2006 Sorry for the not so artsy shot but i did bring this in C1 with the M8 camera profile and just WB off the cabinet for both of them. Pretty darn good i would say. looks like this may get us by until a permenant fix is in
wparsonsgisnet Posted November 10, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 10, 2006 Thanks Guy, I'm waiting for a 486 filter and also the M8. I look forward to this temporary fix. Also, maybe we got a present in a camera with such sensitivity to IR. Regards,
Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 10, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 10, 2006 Lets check a color chart in this as well, give me a few minutes
Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 10, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 10, 2006 I changed lenses to the 35 lux . The first was the 50 lux. Looks like it is working good again I got a little closer and added a Macbeth Color Chart and i see no real color shift that i would call affect the other colors. Looks damn good actually. Again top is before and bottom is with filter. My only question left is this maybe hopefully going to help the banding not the cause but showing more. i will try that also. I just ghave a feeling on that one, could be dead wrong but for the magenta cast , this will get us through Welcome, dear visitor! Peter41951 Posted November 10, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 10, 2006 Very good news. Easier than PShop!
tom0511 Posted November 10, 2006 Share #7 Posted November 10, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Guy, great, thanks for posting those. I just wonder why people do not just get those filters and take images. I wish my M8 was allready here. Tome for you to shoot some images to compare the M8 and DMR cheers, Tom
Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 10, 2006 Share #8 Posted November 10, 2006 It's a real solution for a temp fix and by no way does this mean I am letting Leica off the hook , we need this inside and on the sensor. This will just get us by but it is expensive. Also hard to find. This is the slim one there is a thicker one also, not sure if there is a property difference though
Vivek Iyer Posted November 10, 2006 Share #9 Posted November 10, 2006 Try the same setup outdoors on a sunny day and see if it works as good as this.
Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 10, 2006 Share #10 Posted November 10, 2006 This is daylight pouring in and in the shade. I will when i get some time , I have real work to get done but i would think the same results
Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 10, 2006 Share #11 Posted November 10, 2006 Sean is also getting some of these today and since i did the inside light from daylight maybe he could try the outside ones until I get a chance to do it. I am sure he will see this request.
pascal_meheut Posted November 10, 2006 Share #12 Posted November 10, 2006 How comes that the one with the filter has a green cast ? Is this a WB issue ?
DaveEP Posted November 10, 2006 Share #13 Posted November 10, 2006 Guy, the 'fixed' shots seem to have a slight green cast on my monitor, whereas the unfixed ones seem to have nice white walls. Can you comment on this?
Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 10, 2006 Share #14 Posted November 10, 2006 Hmmm I white balanced off the card this time with the filter on or the cut filter maybe too strong also. We have to figure the sensor has some already
Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 10, 2006 Share #15 Posted November 10, 2006 I shot daylight with the CC card so this time straight out of the camera. I really see little differnece except the card has less magenta also. That could be why it looks that way. This is very very close though
davidada Posted November 10, 2006 Share #16 Posted November 10, 2006 Guy Looks good no green cast on my calibrated monitor, how much do they run?
Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 10, 2006 Share #17 Posted November 10, 2006 Outside sun I did not ,WB straight from camera. Notice with the greens plant in background. Look how sharp the 35 lux is Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 10, 2006 Share #18 Posted November 10, 2006 They run anywhere from around 80 to 200 depending on size check Adorama and B&H
Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 10, 2006 Share #19 Posted November 10, 2006 Notice the back on the card and see the magenta cast without the filter than a true black with it. Also the wall and reason i have been saying all along is the files look magenta with the C1 M8 profile, with the filter that is not the case and the profile looks very good. robsteve Posted November 10, 2006 Share #20 Posted November 10, 2006 C1 will probably have to do profiles for the M8 with the 486 filter on it and various lighting conditions to correct the green in the black. Incidentally, I have been watching a few of the news shows and when the anchors or guests have black on they either have this slight green cast or magenta cast to the black. Probably an IR problem too and the green is where they have filtered the lens but not profiled the camera.
