Very appreciated statement. Simple, direct and candid. Good luck to them.

 

Let's hope that what was turning into a business school case study in how to destroy a good company, instead now becomes the story of how a small high quality brand can recover from a faulty product launch by standing by its traditions and loyal customers. That is as exceptional in today's world as is a retooled M8 that would meet the company's and their customers expectations.

Is it me or does the EOS 5D do everything we wanted from a digital M? It´s full frame (the M8 is not), it´s got that magic glow (the M8 glows too but in a purple way...), well... its not a rangefinder. But you wont see that in the photo anyway. :rolleyes:

 

I think that there are plenty here who would disagree with you with regards to the "glow".

 

To be honest, and with respect, I think that you have entirely missed the point of the M8...

Publishers are sometime pushing for books to be written in a hurry

Mine are years of work and I think they ought to be so

Leica is both a modern company and one deeply rooted in history

of photography — i.e. of modern world.

So take your time and deliver a masterpiece

When Apple launched the iMac with its new USB connecting feature,

all first generation iMac freezed as soon you plugged an external

floppy drive to the USB port.

It was a major problem because at that time floppies were still in

current use, and you were not only forced to restart

the Mac, but to reinstall the whole system, that was garbled by this faulty

feature.

I've been among the first customers (1998) to escalate the bug

from Apple France to Apple USA.

After a few weeks, Apple solved the bug (and some others).

The iMac was the big success that marked the re-birth of Apple under Steve Jobs.

Very good! Leica is to be commended for putting out a message on this issue.

 

Please understand, I think most users on this forum and other RF forums, are serious photographers. I for one wish nothing but success for this camera, because I need it to work! Take the time to read this forum and understand what customers are dealing with, as you have clearly already done.

 

Thank you. We are all hoping the fix is simple and at no cost.
