stuny Posted June 16, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) 48th street between Broadway and 6th, at 6:41 this morning. Rupert Murdock owns Fox news, 20th Century Fox, Fox network, and all the Dow Jones properties, including the Wall Street Journal. Yesterday’s front page of the WSJ showed an Iranian policeman about to club an unarmed man. The policeman was wearing a bullet proof vest with POLICE on the back, in English, not Farsi. Does this indicate yet another reason for me not to trust News Corporation?
Advertisement Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Hi stuny, Take a look here Fox News (Yuck!). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
antistatic Posted June 16, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 16, 2009 Ah Rupert, not our finest export Stuart, you photos capture the colour, noise and confusion of Fox.
Michael Hiles Posted June 16, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 16, 2009 (edited) Good pictures indeed. Terrible news organization - not to be trusted. Fair and balanced? Nonsense. (Apropos of another current thread - tough to be civil about Fox) Edited June 16, 2009 by Michael Hiles
carylwithay Posted June 16, 2009 Share #4 Posted June 16, 2009 I really like the colors and abstractions. Caryl
michali Posted June 16, 2009 Share #5 Posted June 16, 2009 Stuart- I agree they're among the worst in a bad bunch! Your photographs on the other hand are great, I like the self portrait in #1 and the reflections and play of colours in all of them.
stuny Posted June 16, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted June 16, 2009 David, Michael, Caryl & Mike - Thank you.
MrEd Posted June 16, 2009 Share #7 Posted June 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Stuart- Your self-portrait is the best! I agree; Fox News is just as bad as the ABC NBC CBS, CNN and all the rest ...just another tool of the powers that be to keep the mass hypnotism going for as long as they need to. Ed. . vdb Posted June 16, 2009 Share #8 Posted June 16, 2009 Excellent for vivid, brilliant colors with just enough abstraction to match the subject at hand.
pauledell Posted June 17, 2009 Share #9 Posted June 17, 2009 Stuart, Nice pictures. Great exposures, sharp and well framed. I trust the first picture isn't a reflection of today's news. Things are bad enough. Paul
beamon Posted June 17, 2009 Share #10 Posted June 17, 2009 Opinions being what they are, I'm sure that most of you, posting above, will think of mine exactly what I think of yours. And, since you didn't ask, I'll tell you, anyway, that I give far more credibility to Fox News and the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal than all the rest taken together. formernikon Posted June 17, 2009 Share #11 Posted June 17, 2009 I like pic number one the best. As for media comments, beware of the station who only shows you one side. Beware of the stations who broadcast their "news" from the White House, even if only temporarily.
epand56 Posted June 17, 2009 Share #12 Posted June 17, 2009 Stuart, great images, almost a series of paintings. Great colours and compositions and... double portrait.
hodimeyer Posted June 17, 2009 Share #13 Posted June 17, 2009 Stuart, once again - a great series of your "mirror" shots I like your self-portrait very much! All the best Horst Dieter
stuny Posted June 17, 2009 Author Share #14 Posted June 17, 2009 Ed, Virgil, Paul, Formernikon, Enrico & Horst. Thank you. Roger - Clearly you are not alone in your views on Fox News and the WSJ -- Both are currently making money and they can't do that without sufficient readership/viewership. BTW: I have been looking into the "POLICE" vest issue and found a fairly credible claim that it is left over from before the Shah was deposed in the 1970s. digger1914 Posted June 17, 2009 Share #15 Posted June 17, 2009 Ah Rupert, not our finest export Stuart, you photos capture the colour, noise and confusion of Fox. But al least he is no longer an Aussie! Great shots stuart

beamon Posted June 25, 2009 Share #17 Posted June 25, 2009 Roger - Clearly you are not alone in your views on Fox News and the WSJ -- Both are currently making money and they can't do that without sufficient readership/viewership. BTW: I have been looking into the "POLICE" vest issue and found a fairly credible claim that it is left over from before the Shah was deposed in the 1970s. Even if it was, the conduct of the authorities and Revolutionary Guard in the last week or so indicates that they're still up to violence to quell the current discontent. That's horrible, and must be thoroughly condemned regardless of politics.
