To celebrate my 25,000th post I'm showing several photos that I like a great deal. You'll notice that this mini-collection is dominated by photos of Barbara: my best friend, soulmate, muse, lover and wife. I've not included my favorite photo of her because it's not that good except for subject. You can see it here, though, standing on the foredeck of the MV Talita, relaxing between scuba dives: http://www.barbara-and-stu.com/plogger/index.php?level=picture&id=1750

The photos are:

1. In a tiny, rural Ma O village in Myanmar, where we brought school supples. The villagefolk took us into many homes, and this shy, curious woman looked in from outside. DMR 80-200.

2. One New York Plaza, at the southern tip of Manhattan, early one morning. this is across the street from whre I used to work before moving to midtown about three years ago. PanaC-Lux

3. Most Sunday mornings Barbara enjoys sleeping in while I do the food shopping and prepare breakfast in be. D2

4. Dead Vlei in the Namib Desert. D2

5. Dreux Chapel Dome in France, show to us by our dear friend and Forum member Gerard. DMR 28-70

6. Brown Hyena in the Kalahari. DMR 80-200 + APO 2X extender

7. Barbara with wild meerkats in the Kalihari. D2

8. Cuttlefish near Mabul Island, Malaysian Borneo. PanaC-Lux in underwater enclosure with external flash

9. Fisher woman in the Sepic region of Papua New Guninea. DMR 80-200

10. Our last night in India while Barbara selects the wine. D2

Beautiful shots, all. I can see why you chose them. I hope you have the Namib desert shot framed and on the wall. It is stunning. And I particularly liked the shot of your wife with the meerkats, as one is looking at her while another is checking out her shoes. I suppose the follow-up shot would have shown him looking at his own feet and mentally measuring for size.

And congrats on posting 25,000. That is truly remarkable!

It seems like only yesterday it was your 10,000th...

Congratulations Stuart.

Are those the Leica binoculars that started it all hanging around Barbara's neck?

Congratulations Stuart.

That is quite an accomplishment. How you find the time to be Moderator, Photographer---occasionally, Mentor to those of us more "challenged" photographers--I'll never know.

Cheers!
