Advertisement Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Hi Arthur Winner, Take a look here M8 fault-any ideas. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted May 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 11, 2009 Write error to the card. The first suspect is the card, or dirty contacts. Although - the fact that it stops halfway the frame could be an indication of a readout error on the sensor....
Arthur Winner Posted May 11, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted May 11, 2009 Thanks . The interesting thing is when the image first loads in the M8 monitor it looks fine, but then, a second or so later the fault appears. This doesn't happen when down loaded to my PC. jaapv Posted May 11, 2009 Share #4 Posted May 11, 2009 That shows there is a write error. The M8 uses the half-processed RAW data to generate the initial LCD readout. After a short while it picks up the fully processed embedded Jpg from the DNG file. So the initial sensor output was OK.

That makes sense and I have now learnt something new and do believe I will sleep much better tonight. As lct put it "Quite a relief indeed" Regards, Arthur
