Advertisement Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Hi gylee, Take a look here A380. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
epand56 Posted April 28, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 28, 2009 Great series with the #1 as the one I prefer for the angle and point of view. Very sharp picture with an amazing light and tonal range. I thought it was forbidden to take pictures in airports...
Tullahoma Posted April 28, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 28, 2009 Very nice shots, with an excellent tonal range without blown highlights. It is difficult to realize the size of this aircraft until one looks at the people included in the photo. The second photo is interesting to an old aero engineer like myself, because it shows the curvature of the wings when sitting on the ground. Jim N. gylee Posted April 28, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted April 28, 2009 Thank you gentlemen. The thing is indeed a monster. I have not flow on it, but I understand that it is almost unnaturally quiet. The dynamic range of the M8 is impressive, particularly in DNG. Honestly, it's tough to blow a highlight. These were taken from the Qantas first class lounge in Melbourne. No officious security guards in there... G.
epand56 Posted May 1, 2009 Share #5 Posted May 1, 2009 Did you shoot them in "A" mode or manual exposure?

biglouis Posted May 2, 2009 Share #7 Posted May 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Very interesting captures. I particularly like #2 and #3 because they really do capture the scale of the aircraft. LouisB
gylee Posted May 4, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted May 4, 2009 Did you shoot them in "A" mode or manual exposure? Metered off the concrete in A. Locked the exposure and then recomposed. Thanks Enrico. G.
gylee Posted May 4, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted May 4, 2009 great set of photos # 2 love this photo, with the round landing ramp, well takern david Thanks David. Shame Malaysian couldn't have moved their 777 for the occasion! G.
gylee Posted May 4, 2009 Author Share #10 Posted May 4, 2009 Very interesting captures. I particularly like #2 and #3 because they really do capture the scale of the aircraft. LouisB Thanks Louis. It's a beast. Personally, I think it's quite hideous to look at. Would still like to try it though. I flew Melbourne/New York return in January and missed my chance of an A380 service both ways by a day. For the record, it is a LONG way from Melbourne to New York. G. (And yes my sensor needs a clean - I fixed the spots on the BW shots. Too lazy to do it here.)
Mauribix Posted May 6, 2009 Share #14 Posted May 6, 2009 Oh, thank you! As I suspected, exception done for the first shot who's absolutely nice in B/W, I prefere the coloured version of the other two. Ciao!
