I don't want one, but from what I gather the safari version was an enormous success. ....

Well, if you want to share in the Safari's success, Popflash has now reduced the kit they have been advertising since its introduction from $11,997.00 to Sale Price: $8,950.00. Popflash seems to invite a slightly more professional and price-conscious clientele, so I was surprised when they listed it.

The guy from Transcontinenta (NL import company for Leica gear) said that they got 3x more Safaris than alloted to France and that were sold out within one month. He seemed quite happy with the sales of the M8s in general even with the financial crisis.

While we were discussing this another M8 was being sold to a fresh victim.

I would go with an all-colours version which you can change the colour to every day according with your mood.

Just like the exchangeable bodyes of dumb kids mobile phones.

You buy an M8.2 and several detachable vulcanite colored sets, that you can switch according with tha fashion trend of the day.

bradhusick, Who painted these? Earl Scheib or MAACO?:D

Nice! I did the selection very roughly to emphasize the preposterous nature of the exercise!

For our overseas friends, MAACO is the low-price car painting company here in the US. You get what you pay for.

so it's a white m8?

looks like its more akin to the m8 panda version than the m8.2?

also -- strange that leica would omit to paint in the m8 marks on the body.

thats why i thought it was a photoshop job.

odd again that they would leave silver dials and such as black would suit it much much more.

if the m8 was written in black, a black logo, and black dials....smoove indeed.
