stuny Posted April 7, 2009 Share #5 Posted April 7, 2009 Doug - I've always liked grebes, and your treatment of them only enhances that. Superb. I prefer the lower vantage point of the kayak borne shots.
roguewave Posted April 7, 2009 Share #6 Posted April 7, 2009 Doug, your usual sublime light & color. Do you have a separate flotilla for the fill lights?
leicanut2 Posted April 10, 2009 Share #7 Posted April 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey Doug you should have had the red eye thing on the camera on. Ha, just kidding. I know it has red eyes. I like them all but number 2 is the one I like the most. Cheers Jan
wildlightphoto Posted April 10, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted April 10, 2009 Hey Doug you should have had the red eye thing on the camera on. LOL good one! Ben, the water was my flotilla of reflectors. I was typically using shutter speeds of 1/4000 or faster (ISO 400, f/6.8)

biglouis Posted April 10, 2009 Share #13 Posted April 10, 2009 A fantastic body of work. The squirrel and fox shots appeal to me most but in general I am just amazed by your skill and talent. LouisB
topoxforddoc Posted April 10, 2009 Share #14 Posted April 10, 2009 Doug, All round excellence. I still marvel at how you get some of your shots from a kayak. I'd be scared stiff to take my DMR in case I dropped the thing in the soup! Best wishes, Charlie
wildlightphoto Posted April 10, 2009 Author Share #15 Posted April 10, 2009 ... shots from a kayak. I'd be scared stiff to take my DMR in case I dropped the thing in the soup! I almost THREW it in the lake when I found that my loon photos (at 20') were overexposed because the mode switch got bumped from (m) to (a). The mode switch is getting a healthy dose of gaffer's tape.
leicanut2 Posted April 10, 2009 Share #16 Posted April 10, 2009 Wow, great shots with film. I like Fuji pro 160c and there 400h I have film on order so hope to get out there and see what I can do. I'm sure the camera can do it, it's me that will have the trouble. Cheers Really like the extra pics. Jan
andybarton Posted April 10, 2009 Share #17 Posted April 10, 2009 I had this combination for a while (sans kayak... ) and I know what a handful that 560 is. Just incredible work.
