vic vic Posted November 14, 2006 Share #81 Posted November 14, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) thanks man.... oh sure... what u say about the scanning the orignal print and its effect on the "grain sublimating"t is very true... and i already know it from my own experience..... sure... when i will upload to my website the "scanning b/w film" issue, there is some discussion about it too.... ah, by the way... as u mentioned u have scitex (=creo), im sure u know that with the great control that the oxygen sharpening functions provides, u can variete with this "aggresivnes" issue of film grain when scanned.... but still, u r rite, it is not like what u get from the darkroom.... in darkroom print there is some "coherency" so to spaeck, which gives substentially different look, especially for b/w print, and even more especially for high-speed films.... about 400% from a3 orginal... thanks... sounds very good to me.... sounds very promising for what im concidering... thansk man :-))))
Advertisement Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Hi vic vic, Take a look here M8 - the end for your Film M's ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
kdemas Posted November 14, 2006 Share #82 Posted November 14, 2006 I have been using my M8 for nearing 2 weeks now and love it. I have 2 M7s and 2 M5s and I am quite sure that there will be a little "thinning of the stock" pretty soon! I will keep at least 1 of each, great cameras. When travelling I love to use my M7 with some 400UC or Ultra 100, with a Ricoh GRD for digital. That will probably continue for a while as it works out great for what I want. What the M8 spells doom for is probably my Contax G or Nikon "S" equipment, but that's a topic for another forum. Kent
