Well done, thighslapper

I only glanced in the door of the shop, but the look I got from the staff inside was not "tempting" to venture within. I felt like if I'm not welcome then neither is my wallet , so my holiday dosh was safe in the Vicolo dell'Oro:)

Nice street art, though

Your turn...

Well from these shots it's easy for a Googler to get to Funchal - a place I've never really thought to visit, but now I just might :)

And from Funchal, Madeira I think it would not be too far to walk to the Japanese Garden of the Monte Palace

(What I like about this thread - fodder for the bucket list - thanks:D)

Thank you, Jim. I have traveled to places I would have never have gone to if it hadn't been for what I discovered about them through this thread. Nikko, Japan was one of them, already about five years ago - this thread has been around for a while, let's keep it going!

The Gardens in Monte Palace...... which technically is above Funchal .... it's an easy walk down ....... or you can take a wicker 'sledge' ....... but coming up I would use the cablecar ;)

.... and yes ... if you google 'painted door' these photos pop up and are hard to miss.

Madeira is a lovely place and well worth a visit ..... plenty of Leica fodder available...

over to you Jim
