otto.f Posted January 1, 2015 Share #14831 Posted January 1, 2015 I thought the sculpture represents Europa, so I guessed Luxembourg, Strassbourg or Bruxelles. The statue could be situated near the European Parliament then?
karuba Posted January 2, 2015 Share #14832 Posted January 2, 2015 It is on the opposite side of the river from the European Parliament, hidden on the rear-side of an office building that (I think) is part of the Council of Europe.

Michael Hiles Posted January 2, 2015 Share #14834 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) I think this is Italy, perhaps Florence. Edited January 2, 2015 by Michael Hiles
otto.f Posted January 2, 2015 Share #14835 Posted January 2, 2015 This is Italy! Not Florence
Jim-St Posted January 3, 2015 Share #14836 Posted January 3, 2015 Not Florence indeed - this is the San Michele in Foro church in Lucca. A weird and wondrous building, quite different to anything in Florence, but imho the match of any of the churches and basilicas there. Indeed one of the most impressive, memorable buildings in Christian Europe. And otto your excellent photograph gives an unusual and tantalising perspective on the church, and one which highlights the beauty of the stonework (Carrara marble?) otto.f Posted January 3, 2015 Share #14839 Posted January 3, 2015 Isn't this somewhere near Luxemburg city, a castle near Esch sur Alzette something?
Jim-St Posted January 3, 2015 Share #14840 Posted January 3, 2015 This is a long way west of Luxembourg, otto. Almost as far as you can go without getting your feet wet
