"Do you know the world ?" -- Competition --

Recommended Posts

It's not Higashikuni Naruhiko, Bill, but a person who lived several centuries earlier.

If you look for the location first, you will find the person much faster.

The area of Kyoto where to look is not far from the Shisen-do temple.

As Leicabraz wrote a few posts before, you know the world if you know the hints :)

Fantastic, yes, we were looking for Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, and the Enkoji temple.

A bit more explanation, on a sign outside of the Enkoji:

Thank you Noriko.

After enough hints had accumulated it was possible to solve. But not in times pre-www !

Many images of beautiful gardens showed up in that search, interesting.

Now, going back in history much further, two famous persons: Adam and Eve. :)

Where do they pick apples ?

We search for a sightseeing attraction, a garden. And all the different apple trees in that garden are there for a particular reason related to that region of the country.

Hello Michael,

your choices sound interesting, but unfortunately do not fit here.

It is not that close to a coast like in the Normandy, and no real "city" is around the corner.

The key to finding the location of this garden is to find out which kind of relation apples have to that particular region in the country we are in. Apple trees can be standing everywhere, but what might distinguish this region from other regions in Europe ?

BTW, this garden shows much more than apple trees, they are just a small part, but very typical for this region. :)

Food for thought....

Best regards

Bill

Michael,

no, not an island. This "apple-connected" area has two valleys that meet near the garden. And is located far away from any coast. And the area is visited by millions of tourists every year.

Olsen was so right when he asked for Europe. Because as a Norwegian he was most likely thinking of New Zealand when talking about apples... ;)

Later today I'll post a picture of the garden.

Best regards

Bill

Has this a connection to cider?

Hello Lars,

I think no. You can get cider there, but it is not known for its cider. A short Google search also did not reveal any hint for a "cider connection". I'm not an expert in that field

Best

Bill
