mikemgb Posted January 6, 2018 Share #17425 Posted January 6, 2018 (edited) Well that didn't take long at all! Your turn Keith. My wife and I were on a rally that consisted of a non-stop lap of Lake Michigan in one of our toys. Welcome, dear visitor! otto.f Posted January 7, 2018 Share #17428 Posted January 7, 2018 (edited) This is a photo from 1991 made with an M4 and Kodak TMZ3200. I'm quite certain this building hasn't changed in the meantime. Which world famous building is this and in what city? Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Dirk Van der Herten Posted January 7, 2018 Share #17429 Posted January 7, 2018 The arches in the background suggest this photo might be taken the Mezquita de Cordoba.
otto.f Posted January 7, 2018 Share #17430 Posted January 7, 2018 Great Dirk, one shot and bull’s eye! Which leads to an honourable mention and the invitation to give us the next puzzle.
Dirk Van der Herten Posted January 7, 2018 Share #17431 Posted January 7, 2018 Thanks much, Otto, I was often there so it was not so difficult. Although I have never - and will never - put one foot in this particular part of the mezquita. After the Reconquista Charles V gave permission to turn this most beautiful mosque into a cathedral, and after the “renovation” was finished commented that "something unique in all the world was destroyed to build something you can find in any city”. For a catholic emperor quite a statement. Fortunately large parts of the original building still remain almost untouched, a magical place. For the next piece of the puzzle, let’s go to another continent. The location where this temple can be found is well-known because of its busy international airport. But what is the name of this temple? Welcome, dear visitor! AZach Posted January 7, 2018 Share #17432 Posted January 7, 2018 This is the Naritasan Shinsho-ji Shrine - used to be a popular spot to waste some hours when the flights were late...

AZach Posted January 7, 2018 Share #17434 Posted January 7, 2018 Before the time of Trans-Siberian non-stop flights it happened quite so often actually. The next one is near a place where many hardships are rewarded. Name of the city? Welcome, dear visitor! Dirk Van der Herten Posted January 7, 2018 Share #17439 Posted January 7, 2018 Thank you, Arto.Last spring on the way to the cathedral I bicycled through this very street, and I remember it cost a lot of sweat. For the next piece of the puzzle we stay on the Iberian peninsula. Welcome, dear visitor! Michael Geschlecht Posted February 5, 2018 Share #17440 Posted February 5, 2018 Hello Dirk, (He said, noticing that it has been nearly a month & no one has responded with a guess as to the location of this very nice building in its equally very nice photo.) Could we be somewhere in the southern part of the Iberian Peninsula?Best Regards, Michael
