kalina Posted January 23, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 23, 2009 Yes, you can. I have both and tried my Lumix battery in my Titanium model that I just got today because I was so excited. The Lumix battery is made in Japan. The D-Lux 4 battery is made in China.

kalina Posted January 23, 2009 Share #5 Posted January 23, 2009 Not if you're into accessorizing correctly. I'm using that Ricoh lens cap which is black on my Titanium. I do wish it was the same color as the camera. Then again... the bezel of the lens is black so the Titanium isn't all one color. People who complained that the Titanium doesn't have a red dot will probably be a little more at ease to know that the Leica red dot logo shows up when you shut down the camera

offshore Posted January 23, 2009 Share #9 Posted January 23, 2009 Just wondering, can I use a battery for the LX3 in a Leica D Lux 4? Any reason not to use non-branded batteries? Thanks BGreig When I purchased my LX3 at Amazon they recommended a Lenmar battery as an accessory and I purchased it for $9.00. It has the exact same specs and so far it has performed perfectly.
Richard D Posted January 23, 2009 Share #10 Posted January 23, 2009 Yes, you can. I have both and tried my Lumix battery in my Titanium model that I just got today because I was so excited. The Lumix battery is made in Japan. The D-Lux 4 battery is made in China. That's interesting- I have both a Panasonic Lumix battery and a Leica D-Lux 4 battery for my D-Lux 4. Both are from China. I also have a Panasonic LX1 that I bought when they first came out (3 years?)- the battery back then was made in Japan. BTW, both camera and original battery are still going strong. I'll have to check that LX3 battery again tonight. I swear it said "Made in Osaka" so I just said Japan in my message. Hmmm... is a Japanese battery better than a Chinese battery? Hmmm... is a Japanese battery better than a Chinese battery? I don't think it really matters anyway. I presume your response was tongue-in-cheek.....:-) Oh, I did want to add that all the iterations of this camera, LX1 to LX3 and the Leica versions will work with the same battery. Yep, I'm actually Chinese So, guys, I checked the battery again. It's Made in China. My confusion was when I looked at both batteries, I scanned them quickly. The Leica one clearly says "Made in China" at the bottom with "Leica AG" three text lines above it (above the UL). The Panasonic one had "Panasonic Osaka Japan" right above "Made in China" and hence my mistake. Sorry!
