Thank you Alfredo for starting such a positive thread.

Purchased a M8 in December 06, had to give it for RF vertical adjustment (it was done by a French official repair center in Paris named Procirep (very responsive) and not sent to Solms).

Purchased a M8.2 two weeks ago from Photo Design Studio in the UK (Denvon), very satisfactory improvements (in particular the frames and the discreet mode).

Very happy with the IQ, many prints made on A2 with an Epson 3800 and Qimage.

The perfect tool to continue the M dynasty in the digital world!

Bebert

I don't want to be a wet noodle after I started this thread but it looks like I'll have to send my M8 in for repair, and my two year warranty has expired. Read: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/75752-i-spoke-too-soon.html

Having said that, my camera worked pretty much without flaw for the first two years, and it still remains my best photographic tool when it works.

I love my M-8. Had it 18 months with no problems.Being a toolmaker I admire its engineering and its operation. I carry it with me every day whether I am working or travelling. It is a fun tool to use.

M-8, 2 M-7s, M-6 TTL, M-4.2, M-3, D LUX3. 6 Leica Lens, 5 CV Lens, R-8, D300, 40D.

Contax 645, Pentax 645N. Al the above are used a lot although I am only an amatuer with over 54 years of having fun with a camera. I have no complaints with a Leica.

My M8 has worked flawlessly for nearly one year now, although I wish I had more time to use it more often. The only way to take advantage of those great lenses. Main gripes are poor high-ISO performance and a tendency to attract a lot of sensor dust, even when exercising extreme care in swapping lenses.
