Advertisement Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 Hi alw, Take a look here Is it only me or is this too cheap?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
UliWer Posted January 9, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 9, 2009 It is neither extremely cheap nor very expensive. The information given by the seller don't seem to be very exact. With a serial no. 126.... it was made 1935, not 1933. The first - black - III start with 107601 - 107757 in 1934. What you can see on the photos the body is not in excellent condition. The verbal description is so so. If you look at very trustworthy specialized dealers - with high prices - you might find a black III, condition B, serial no. 124xxx with an Elmar lens for 500,- €. luigi bertolotti Posted January 9, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 9, 2009 I'd say that's a mean right price for this item ... but, personally, I wouldn't like to buy such an item on ebay... model III can have a lot of small details that can result "wrong" when carefully inspected (I mean, not original, badly restored etc...) : being it a not rare item, originality is the main factor for a correct value. jc_braconi Posted January 9, 2009 Share #4 Posted January 9, 2009 IMHO for what I can see on the pict the camera is in poor conditions, C+ ,so it is a liitle bit expensive.

uwe zankl Posted January 10, 2009 Share #6 Posted January 10, 2009 Hi there At the moment there are quite a few black IIIs on E-Bay around the globe...so you can choose:) A question to the experts on this particular one...is it possible that the Vulcanite is new? It looks like it is a bit heavy in grain. If I look at my black III...mine has a slightly softer grain! cheers Uwe PS: I love black LTM cameras, especially the ones with nickel knobs and some nice patina...somehow they look even more 30s than their chrome sisters:D

Both my chrome and black III's have a finer grain pattern. Len

Len Yes, I looked at the pictures with more attention, the cover I'd say is "wrong"... and I have some suspect also looking at the bottom removed... as I said, these are cameras for is mandatory to give a serious and direct inspection to.
