Los Angeles Skyline

Unfortunately, this is a rare sight in Los Angeles. Taken the day after a rainy Christmas Day. The rain washed down the smog to provide a relatively clear vew of the downtown from Kenneth Hahn Park in the Baldwin Hill section of Los Angeles.

A stitched panorama with R9/DMR + 800/5.6 (That's all I had, coming from shooting birds that day.)

Thanks for looking,

Peter -

I went out to Los Angeles many times on business for several years. Then one morning I looked out my hotel window from the Marina and saw the mountains, which I had no idea were there. In the subsequent years I got to see the mountains more and more frequently.

This is a beautiful compositon, wonderfully stitched. I think it's worth moving up the shadow curve to add more drama...

That is an amazing picture.

I like it a lot.

There is a bird somewhere:)

Thanks Peter,

Harry

Harry,

Thank you. There actually was a BIG bird in there. :) There was a helicopter flying around, but the software (PTGui) cloned it out.

Peter, rare indeed. I can almost see that run down bungalow in Big Bear where Henry Diltz shot the cover for Crosby Stills & Nash. We spent some time there. Very cool & unique image. Send it the LA Chamber of Commerce. They'll have a heart attack.

You can actually see it at the actual pixel level. :D

Thank you, Ben.

Stuart,

Thank you. That does work better.

I do agree that things have been getting a little better over the past 10 - 20 years. I'd love to have it like this everyday though.

Hi Peter,

Wonderful skyline, lovely colors and lighting. Sorry for the ignorance, but I did not realize that Los Angeles gets snow, it's not something that ever gets shown. All one see's of this amazing city, apart from Hollywood/Beverly Hills/Long Beach, are the droughts and horrifying fires coupled with the Santa Anna winds. Thanks for sharing this excellent image with us.
