sandymc Posted January 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) A new version of CornerFix is available for download at the usual spot: SourceForge.net: CornerFix This is a minor upgrade - unless you have one of the new Leica lenses, it doesn't do much for you: 1. It adds MakerNote decoding for the new Leica lenses - Summilux-M 21mm f/1.4, Summilux-M 24mm f/1.4, Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 and Elmar-M 24mm f/3.8 2. On the Mac platform, memory utilization has been improved slightly 3. On Windows platform there has been a fairly major update under the hood - CornerFix is now recognized as a native Vista application, with UAC controls etc, which should give somewhat better performance under Vista. NOTE however that this has required an upgrade to CornerFix's support environment. As of this version, the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package is required, NOT the previous Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package. This applies to both Vista AND XP installations. You can download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package here: Download details: Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) If you get error messages like “The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect” or “The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect", then the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package is not installed. salobaas Posted January 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 5, 2009 Hi Sandy, thanks for making cornerfix. Is there a repository of Leica lens profiles somewhere? I am looking for profiles for the elmarit 24mm ASPH and lux 35mm ASPH. Cheers, Fons.
sandymc Posted January 6, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted January 6, 2009 Fons, There isn't any "official" repository, but if you search this site, you'll find various individual profiles. Most people just build their own profiles..... Sandy
SJP Posted January 6, 2009 Share #4 Posted January 6, 2009 Sandy, Maybe a stupid question but recently there was a discussion on the two types of vignetting on the M8, see here Is that something that is easy to implement in cornerfix? I haven't tried it (yet) but I get the impression it only deals with color vignetting, not intensity. thanks Stephen
sandymc Posted January 6, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted January 6, 2009 Actually, CornerFix deals with both, and allows you to adjust the amount of compensation for Luma and Chroma vignetting separately - take a look under the Color tab of the Options/Preferences panel. The default setting is full compensation for both. Sandy
