PS: my IIIg is younger than I am.

I use my Leica III which was built the year I was born. But my favorite is a black/nickel II which is 6 years older.

R4, the SN dates to 1983.

I've got a Leica R-E with a vario-elmar 28-70 from my year of birth: 1991:D. This was just a coincidence. All my other Leica gear is older than me except for my R7, M7 and my 2 summicron 50's for M and R.

Its not easy to find a 1944 Leica, but I have a 1938 one, a III, thus six years older than me.

The closest I have is a IIIf from 1952/53 - I'm from 1956. I do however have and use a Leica from the year my father was born 1931 a model C.

I've had an M3 and M2 from 1963 in the past (would like to get at least one again), and am expecting a 35mm cron from the same year today with any luck.

Not a body... but one of my Elmars 90 is from 1956 and above all is # 1.325.610 , being 30-12-56 my birthdate... this is fascinating...
