Advertisement Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Hi petewayne, Take a look here Dun Mill Lock. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Marquinius Posted January 4, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 4, 2009 Pete, Lovely series! It sure is a good place to take your camera! What's with all the spillage? It doesn't look like much, but in the end there is a lot of water coming trough every day, through those cracks. But perhaps the next lock also leaks and so there is an equilibrium. biglouis Posted January 4, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 4, 2009 Peter Your D-LUX4 shots are an inspiration, this is a lovely series to add to the wonderful winter shots you have already taken. Out of interest, are you using the inbuilt B&W modes or converting when you process? Also, are you shooting in 4x3? LouisB
petewayne Posted January 4, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted January 4, 2009 Thanks guys...... Marco......with regards the leaks they all leak like sieves so I guess they equal out somewhere.....although as they have a lot of ice on them at the moment I guess it is also a way of relieving pressure. Louis......I always shoot RAW with a view to the shot being B&W and process with Nik Silver Efex Pro but am a minimalist with regards PP as I prefer to shoot images than spend time on the computer (even if it is a MAC ). Mind you the recent weather has been "monochromatic"!!! I tend to shoot either 4:3 or 16:9. I have to say that over the last few weeks my other kit (Mamiya ZD and Canon 1DS2) have stayed in indoors and this little marvel has been my companion along with a tripod (not a fan of OIS!). biglouis Posted January 4, 2009 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2009 I have to say that over the last few weeks my other kit (Mamiya ZD and Canon 1DS2) have stayed in indoors and this little marvel has been my companion along with a tripod (not a fan of OIS!). Doh! I've just realised why my tripod shots with the LX3 are out of focus. I forgot you need to turn off the OIS when using a tripod. Thanks for the insight and keep up the good work.
