Wayland's Smithy is a Neolithic Long Barrow, dating from around 3700BC to 3400BC, which sits just off the prehistoric trackway known as The Ridgeway and a mile from Uffington Castle and The White Horse. This view was taken on a frosty winters evening looking out from the main chamber (there are 3 chambers) into the dusk light whilst sitting in the enclosed space of the burial tomb (DLux4)

Very mystic, although frosty one might to get out of the chamber.

Pete, great capture. You communicate the mood & setting very well. I wonder if you could illuminate a bit of the walkway between the stones, without adding too much contrast, if you would not get more of the illusion of depth in this. I'm spooked!

You've created a sense of foreboding, a sense of being confounded very well! The image has so much depth and yet it feels very claustrophobic! Great work.

thank you for your comments.......I tried this same shot with a Canon 5dMk2 I am evaluating and of the two (bearing in mind different lighting conditions, lens quality, MP etc etc etc) I prefer this version......
