piero Posted January 2, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys! I thought I'd get this flash unit for the M8, anyone has it? What I need to know is where to order with extension cable (sensor on M8, flash hand held on the side) ?? Any suggestions on shops in Europe? if not, where to order in the US? Thanks! Advertisement Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Hi piero, Take a look here Vivitar 285HV and the M8. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
akitadog Posted January 2, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 2, 2009 Piero, I bought my extension cable for the 285HV on e-bay for about $20.00 brand new in box. Akitadog
johnalex141r Posted January 2, 2009 Share #3 Posted January 2, 2009 I have 3 of these, not that I use flash that much. Make sure that you get the "HV" ones, as, the 283s or 285s or some such produce high, high trigger voltages. I have a couple of hotshoe adapters that have that little circular old-standard flash adapter. I think Hama is one company who makes them. The Vivitar to standard pin adapter cable, I don't know where you can get these. Maybe any photo shop? Good luck; JohnS I thought I'd get this flash unit for the M8, anyone has it? piero Posted January 2, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted January 2, 2009 Piero, I bought my extension cable for the 285HV on e-bay for about $20.00 brand new in box. Akitadog any links? or any particular brand to look for? I have seen on Sean Reid site that he has the flash cell on the camera hot shoe and the flash is hand held. As if Vivitar makes an extension cable with the cell that plugs on the camera hot shoe while you can hand held the flash. THIS is the part I need to find out about. Any seller for the strobe itself to recommend?
