Just an FYI for anyone that thinks they missed out on the rebates offered by Leica for the Holidays. Leica has just extended the rebates for the M system until Jan 31st. These include the $1500 rebate for the M8 and the $300 rebates for most M lenses.

Some years ago when Leica had many rebates, they eventually became permanent. The fact is, prices are too high for very many people, not to mention these times are tough economics. I believe the proposed rises in M8 upgrade prices will also be retracted or rebated unless Leica's intent to discontinue the service.
