I thot the warranty in the US is only 1 year ? The warranty all over the world is 2 years on a NEW, bought from a authorized dealer. Demo M8's only have a 1 year warranty. This line problem is well documented with many cameras suffering from it, older and brand new untis, so just like the Digi 2? that had faulty sensors that go bad Leica, I hope, will replace these defective sensors any time it occurs. I agree. With this happening to so many people (seemingly at least) this seems like it should be something done regardless of warranty on other parts. jaapv Posted December 9, 2008 Share #24 Posted December 9, 2008 Under European law, and I suspect USA law as well, there is such a thing as reasonable expectancy. I think a court would take a dim view of a 5000 Euro camera breaking down in two years. I would guess the expectancy would be at least five years here.
