Philippe D. Posted November 25, 2008 Share #21  Posted November 25, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Terve, I´m about to get a 2nd-hand 35. My seller has a Lux from early 80´s and two Crons from early 90´s. Prices are 790€ for each. Which would you grab? I did also choose the Summicron, and save some money for a Summilux Asph (actual version) later.
Advertisement Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Hi Philippe D., Take a look here Quick poll: 35 Lux or Cron?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
StS Posted November 26, 2008 Share #22 Â Posted November 26, 2008 Damn, I rather like the Lux! Â In my view the Summilux is a 'brilliant' lens which needs careful selection of light sources wide open. If there are some highlights like in Andy's images, it will add a nice 'glow' to them. However, if there are some strong point light sources, the flare is over the top to my taste. Â Even the current 35mm Summilux ASPH isn't a perfect lens. Nothing in life is... usefeet Posted November 26, 2008 Share #23 Â Posted November 26, 2008 Nothing wrong with the Summicron, but the Summilux is obviously more versatile. Â (I had the Summicron for years, but now I live with only the f1.4 )

alw Posted November 26, 2008 Author Share #26  Posted November 26, 2008 Just sold my CV Ultron which paved the way for the purchase. I´m getting the cron, Canada version, from a friend who´ll sell it for 650€.

Mauribix Posted November 26, 2008 Share #28 Â Posted November 26, 2008 The cron for me too. With the lux you should face a flare prone lens @1.4 (some they call it "leica glove") The cron is just "perfect" and much less flare prone @f2. Then the lux is soft in the corners, much more than the cron is.
