tdavis Posted November 11, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 11, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Proposal: Top shots (for comparison purposes - the view the photographer sees most often) of the small film cameras are missing from the German and the English LeicaWiki and anyone who can help in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Also, the German Wiki is miles ahead of the English version in the larger Leica cameras (puts us Anglos to shame). Someone who has Deutsch/English capability should come forward and translate so that we don't have to reinvent the same data. The great expections list in this forum are slow in coming to pass. brunom Posted November 18, 2008 Share #2 Posted November 18, 2008 Perhaps you let us know what an English [ or German ] Language Wiki is, so we can respond ?? Bruno

tdavis Posted November 20, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted November 20, 2008 And thanks for asking. Now the German LeicaWiki (where the good stuff is) is more of a challenge so I'll furnish an address: Hauptseite - Leica Wiki (deutsch) Of course you know there is a parallel universe (liederhosen required) where only non whimsical Leica matters are discussed. I'm looking for SKS who knows enough German to combine the 2 wiki's - not all at once, of course, this project moves at a glacial pace - anyone who bi-DeutschAnglo doesn't have much time after monitoring all the latest on both Leica forums (retired? former Wall Street employee) please take the plunge. brunom Posted November 21, 2008 Share #5 Posted November 21, 2008 Thanks ! but what does WIKI mean ? Bruno
tdavis Posted November 22, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted November 22, 2008 Taking your question at face value - a Wiki is a compendium of on-line knowledge by a few (who have no shame) thus producing an ever shifting glob of sometimes useful data. For a discussion of why most Wiki pages look so boring, Hawaiian roots, etc. go to: Wiki - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
