mobeyone Posted October 5, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 5, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well, its been a long time since I have posted but just wanted to say that I have come into ownership of a (used) D2! So impressed with the photos so far and will post some shortly! I do, sadly have reservations about the sensor which I understand to be problematic. Do Leica still standby the replacement of the sensor regardless of ownership? and what are the signs of the sensor failing? I have just took one photo which had horizontal lines across and was very bright in colour? My D2 is an early model...... thanks!

spylaw4 Posted October 6, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 6, 2008 If you do a search on this forum you should come across a number of threads dealing with the symptoms of sensor failure. It does sound like yours may be on the way out. AFAIK Leica are still honouring the sensor guarantee:
krabat Posted October 6, 2008 Share #3 Posted October 6, 2008 Hullo! Welcome to the Club of Digilux 2 owners! Regarding the sensor, just send the camera to the customer service. Anyhow, if you think you have a problem with the camera, it is always good to put a sample image into the forum. Sometimes, the other people here can judge possible problems from the image. Have fun with your camera! Regards, Peter.
fotoguy Posted October 6, 2008 Share #4 Posted October 6, 2008 Hello mobeyone, Congratulations on your digilux 2. I for one would like to join this club soon. Please post updates about your camera. It would be nice to be assured that Leica will service CCD problems to this day. Thanks and happy shooting!

wparsonsgisnet Posted October 6, 2008 Share #6 Posted October 6, 2008 Mo, Leica is still repairing these under warranty. You'll also get a CLA and a 1-year warranty when they're done.
mobeyone Posted October 19, 2008 Author Share #7 Posted October 19, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks all! Apologies for the late reply but attached is a photo. The camera seems to be working ok and the above seems to happen on occasion which is not good.... I did email Leica who advised to return the camera to investigate but the part is out of stock at the moment and estimate a 4 week turn around time. That said, what a camera! amazing and will post some more soon.
