gdoell Posted October 2, 2006 Share #1 Posted October 2, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) This image of a bicyclist on a busy intersection characterizes well the traffic situation on this particular road and more general in China. stuny Posted October 2, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 2, 2006 Gerhard - Superb color, framing, detail, and sense of relative motion -- Almost frighteningly so. We first visited China in 1995 and were amazed at all the bicycles. When we returned 10 years later we were amazed at all the cars. The change is very rapid in cities like Beijing and Shanghai. Michael-IIIf Posted October 2, 2006 Share #3 Posted October 2, 2006 Gerhard, A striking image. It doesn't even matter that her face is out of focus - or movement blurred - the effect of the moving car against the person is a strong image. I was in China in 1986 when everyone was still wearing blue Mao suits. I haven't been back since, I guess it might be a bit different now. I hear they are trying to ban bicycles in favour of cars - what a terrible idea. Michael
