Superb color, framing, detail, and sense of relative motion -- Almost frighteningly so. We first visited China in 1995 and were amazed at all the bicycles. When we returned 10 years later we were amazed at all the cars. The change is very rapid in cities like Beijing and Shanghai.

A striking image. It doesn't even matter that her face is out of focus - or movement blurred - the effect of the moving car against the person is a strong image.

 

I was in China in 1986 when everyone was still wearing blue Mao suits. I haven't been back since, I guess it might be a bit different now. I hear they are trying to ban bicycles in favour of cars - what a terrible idea.
