palmskov Posted October 1, 2006 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am currently testing 2 IANIRO 300 watt photolamps. I was missing a model and decided to pose myself. All photos are shot with digilux 2 in BW mode and these files are raw directly from the camera. No postproduction in order to show the true available light. Are aware of a few shadow drops here and there but it's damn hard to both pose, adjust and shot. Hats of for the 10 secs. timer. All feedback are as always well appreciated...
Advertisement Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Hi palmskov, Take a look here studio lightning self portraits. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted October 1, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 1, 2006 Nikolaj - I like them all for the light, tones and poses. Number one is the stongest, but I think I'd do just a bit of ahrpening to it.
azzo Posted October 1, 2006 Share #3 Posted October 1, 2006 Palmskov, you did a great job shooting yourself. You should be happy with the new lights.By the way, i saw very good images on your site. Regards AZZO
jmr Posted October 1, 2006 Share #4 Posted October 1, 2006 Nicolaj, like number 2; very intense.
Overgaard Posted October 2, 2006 Share #5 Posted October 2, 2006 It's a good thing shooting one self. We seldom do it. I know I have about 0 good pictures of my self. We should do a small competition on the forum. We had "show yourself" before but not really well prepared photos - just whatever showed us. No 2 get's my vote. palmskov Posted October 2, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted October 2, 2006 Thanks to you all for the fantastic feedback. Much appreciated since this was a test I needed confident feedback on. @Overgaard: Must agree. We can't miss all these potential and properly handsome models;) @VicVic: First of all I'm doing all that I can to make the career change. Have done a few pro jobs but are planning much more in the future. Don't know what you mean by nerratives? However I know Timothy Dalton and thanks for the reference;) And yes the photos definetely need processing. These are just directly from the camera to show the captured light. The need sharpening but something wen't wrong while both posing and focusing. @chouhsin: Are planning a series with just tight jeans;)) Thanks for the comment. @Stuny: Thanks as always. Just tried a sharpening the other night and that truely helped. @JMR: Thanks. @Azzo: Thanks both with this feedback and the comments on my online portfolio. Azzo clings italian to me. Is it? vic vic Posted October 3, 2006 Share #9 Posted October 3, 2006 hi nikolaj... neratives.. i mean the way u pose, and the manners u choose to expose yourslef... i dont take what i see there as per-se, i try to get deeper, and i think theree is some depth... photo #4.. is not very good actualy in this content.. #1 and #5 are the bests and the most evident about neratives... #2 i really like it, and so 3 which i feel is more personal on the level of "self exposure"... about going pro... study, not only posting here, for confidance and critiques.. if u want to go and make something real u will have to study to trust yourslef - for bad and for good... knowledge and hard work will help u... study great photographers.. study classics... whatch for what is going in recents etc.... and work hard.. develop your ideas, and experiment,,, even try to copy (or as if u copy) from other photographers that u love.. it is also helpful many times to aquire knowledge... i think u have it, and good luck of course... :-))))))

However it's pronounced way differently so normally I'm not mistaken for being Russian;) I am from Copenhagen, Denmark by the way.
