troyfreund Posted October 1, 2006 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) So, a week or so ago, I was out shooting with my DMR/R8 at a street festival. Shot for about 6 hours with no issues. The next morning I went out to shoot some family pictures at a baptism. I fired of my first shot, to check out my lighting and noticed that only 2/3 of my frame was showing. I opend the back of the camera to discover that my shutter was totally frigged, at least blades out of order/bent. I've sent the camera in for repair, thinking it was simple a camera issue. I just spoke with someone else yesterday who suggested that it was actually due to the DMR. Has anyone heard of a DMR causing the R8/R9 shutter to fail?? Advertisement Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Hi troyfreund, Take a look here DMR/R8 shutter issue. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted October 1, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 1, 2006 Given that the DMR doesn't touch the shutter I can't see it being anything other than coincidence. Not something I've heard of anyhow.
mgcd Posted October 2, 2006 Share #3 Posted October 2, 2006 Troy - Like Steve said it is very unlikely that the DMR caused this unfortunate event. Cheers,
Moritz Posted October 2, 2006 Share #4 Posted October 2, 2006 I've heard of one other case of a Leica Photographer living in Munich who had the same problem with his R8/DMR. His even a member of this forum posting seldonly in the german section. Regards Moritz
