Yes, of course. I've tested with a cron 50, an apo 90 and a lux 35. I have also tested with milich coded CV and I can't get the value in both M8

Are you sure you have lens detection turned on? I just updated my M8 and noticed I had change the menu defaults to what I normally used. Lens detection by default was off.

ALL setting are ReSet with loading the 2.0 firmware.

You have to go in and reset everything.

That's why your not getting the lens info. The Lens detection is set to off.

Camera turn on much faster. I've setup a user profile for A-ISO, actually 2 U-P. One for JPG B&W+DNG and the other for DNG only. Then I have my standard U-P for DNG only ISO 320.

Formatting of cards seems much faster.

All in all I think this is a great update. I'll use A-ISO as now I can set my lenses to max aperture and it will drop the ISO to the lowest. But I'll have to check on that to make sure you don't have to go to 1/8000 before the ISO goes down to 160.

Yes, Robert, after flashing firmware I checked the settings and I noticed that detection was off. I put it back to "ON /UV+IR"

I have corrected my previous post. I suspect I had a problem with the SD card I used to upgrade the first time (I used the same SD card and the same firmware file on both cameras). I have used a new SD card and download the again the firmware from Leica and now both M8s are working properly.

Thanks

I haven't installed the FW yet but if 2500iso looks anything like Okram's picture above then I think it's still a long way from being usable.

Here is Okram's image through Noise Ninja. I assume he was posting a crop of the image at 100% resolution.

How often do you print?

This is 1250, and in 25" inkjet print would be barely noticeable.Mind that this sensor keeps a LOT of detail in high ISO- that goes with low noise red. in process.

If exposed properly- M8 file is actually very good at 1250.(for my needs)

The other problem is low correction latitude of these files- that is really bad.

the problem what happens when the number goes beyond 1000? i just inserted my 16G and and set to JPG Fine mode, it still stays 999.

Well when the counter get to 100 put another card in. Otherwise why are you worrying about it. You'll need to change the battery 3 times for it to take 999 images.

well, i guess it's not really a problem after all. i'm just glad that it writes so much faster now with SDHC card.

Is that really a problem? When the number starts to be displayed you'll still have 998 shots before you need to change the card. That should last a reasonable while.

You will just have to do as you did in the film days. Count up :) In other words, when you hit play, it will display how many images you have taken, just like a frame counter on a film camera. The M8 will then help you and warn you when there are less than 1000 frames left :)
