Advertisement Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Hi jackart, Take a look here What cameras one should have???. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmr Posted October 1, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 1, 2006 Jaak, I have the same, Digilux 2 and C-Lux. I do however, have to keep telling myself that I do not need an M8.
philipotto Posted October 1, 2006 Share #3 Posted October 1, 2006 The only camera I have is a the LC1. The camera I should and will have is the M8+summilux
burkey Posted October 1, 2006 Share #4 Posted October 1, 2006 Digilux 2 and CLUX although the later has been at Leica NJ for around a month getting its metering system checked out. The D2 remains my "serious" digital camera with many excellent results back from it. I have a real love/hate relationship with the CLUX. Some very fine images from it and some completely unuseable ones especially from family stuff with fill flash. I'm hoping it will come back from the Leica folks without the washed out high value issue it had that prompted the check-up. (Yup, negative EVs included.) On the film side, a Voigtlander R3A and "T" for film, (400CN and Reala). An M8 maybe in the future after it's first run issues have been worked through. gepetto Posted October 1, 2006 Share #5 Posted October 1, 2006 Jaak the D-LUX 3 will be more pocketable than you think. If the C-LUX is more what you are looking for I would suggest going with the Pana FX07. The FX07 is the next generation FX01/C-LUX1. It has SDHC suppurt Venus Engine III etc. No RAW file though. Which the D-LUX 3 supports.

rob_x2004 Posted October 1, 2006 Share #7 Posted October 1, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hock your car for an MP 35Lux. It's pocketable too. Well I figure it is smaller than I am so I figure it's a lot less intrusive than I am. Regards Soon to be poor.
sean_reid Posted October 1, 2006 Share #8 Posted October 1, 2006 There's no one answer to this. It depends entirely upon the individual photographer. Cheers, Sean
gepetto Posted October 3, 2006 Share #9 Posted October 3, 2006 Jaak your most welcome. To add an after thought the D-LUX 3 sensor with it's 16:9 aspect ratio which is roughly 1/1.65 in size making it nearly as large as the D2's 2/3 sensor. DPReview has a nice sensor size chart here for comparsion. The C-LUX 1 sports a 1/2.5 sensor. The CL1 is a true compact.
