jwcane.enw Posted October 1, 2006 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Looking for a way to take a photo unattended. The idea is to leave power on and bring in the shutter release signal from an external input. The shutter is released when some event sends the "fire" signal to the camera. The R8/R9 remote control may be usable but I am not sure. Does anyone know if I can hook the remote control to an external sensor? I'm willing to contribute some value-add effort to realize the goal. For example, one might illuminate the subject with IR, and capture reflected IR in a sensor. When the reflection stops, the subject has received a visitor, the "fire" signal is transmitted, and the camera goes to work, taking perhaps 3 bracketed shots every 15 sec. for perhaps 2 min. I'm just guessing at the parameters. But maybe you get the idea. Any ideas appreciated. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Guest guy_mancuso Posted October 1, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 1, 2006 John the only solution that may work and i never tried this but using Pocket wizards and having custom cords made from Paramount cords Sync Cords for Professional Digital and Flash Photography Now I am not sure if it is something you can do or not . These are just some vendors that may be able to make it work . Might be worth a phone call
