Auto ISO Exposure compensation by half press of the shutter, while pressed you can dial in +-3 stop of compensation. EDIT: and it has the new shutter and all the other upgrades installed.. Advertisement Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Hi plexi, Take a look here M8.2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted September 3, 2008 Share #2 Posted September 3, 2008 Maybe he won't be the Norwegian dealer much longer...
Arif Posted September 3, 2008 Share #3 Posted September 3, 2008 Interesting to see the SDHC Card also being listed with 32 GB capacity.

jaapv Posted September 3, 2008 Share #5 Posted September 3, 2008 Maybe he won't be the Norwegian dealer much longer... Too true - a very well-presented rumour too. The ISO shift would be nice, not much of a sensor change.... It is very convincing. Now we have to wait to see if it is inded a leak or a very smart hoax. Otoh - it is a kind of compilation of forum-wishes. How much is 42000 Nkr in Euro?
plexi Posted September 3, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted September 3, 2008 It`s not just a dealer, it`s from the official distributor, so it`s most certainly true. The post on the forum there is now removed, so I suspect someone messed up here. I have saved all the specs, so I can post them here if the link goes down. andybarton Posted September 3, 2008 Share #7 Posted September 3, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Translated version of http://foto.no/cgi-bin/articles/articleView.cgi?articleId=40975 42,000 USD might be a bit ambitious, and as for making the logo more discrete, that's not shown on the photograph. Maybe he hasn't actually got one to show...

durangotang Posted September 3, 2008 Share #13 Posted September 3, 2008 This is interesting. Translated: Leica M8 was launched in autumn 2006 and will still be on sale as an alternative to the Leica M8.2. Lower cost. Same great flavor.
Guest DuquesneG Posted September 3, 2008 Share #14 Posted September 3, 2008 Image framing: By display of two bright-line frames at a time: for 24 and 35 mm, or for 28 and 90 mm, or for 50 and 75 mm. Display selection automatically matches the lens in use. 100% of the sensor format is covered at 0.7 m (LEICA M8.2: 2 m) Hmmmm.....I can just see the rash of threads "New framelines cut off my subject's heads...shame on Leica!" Ivar B Posted September 3, 2008 Share #15 Posted September 3, 2008 Hah! Who would believe that price!? Well, someone is getting their exchange rate economics messed up here. I Euro is 8 NOK, so the price is in excess of 5000 Euro including 25 % Norwegian sales tax. As had been pointed out by Amund, this is not dealer news but it comes from the Norwegian official importer. Maybe someone has screwed up completely by releasing this info too early, I do not know. It seems that in principle the M8.2 is the M8 with the upgrades already there.
elviskennedy Posted September 3, 2008 Share #16 Posted September 3, 2008 What do you take this to mean; "As a response to inquiries from professional photographers have the new model had a more discreet appearance in which Leica logo and blitsskoen has been the same color as the camera. The black model has been given an extra durable dypsvart surface. " A black or grey Red Dot and maybe the old M6 covering? Blacked out engraving? sdai Posted September 3, 2008 Share #19 Posted September 3, 2008 Leica should offer a trade-in program to the original M8 owners.
bayerische Posted September 3, 2008 Share #20 Posted September 3, 2008 Actually 1 EUR = 7.9 NOK Yupp, so it would be about 5500 euro. But I don't believe it.
