Hmm, a press release by the Norwegian Leica dealer is presenting the M8.2 and I can`t see it`s even mentioned here :)

Foto.no - nyheter - Nyheter - Leica M8.2 er leveringsklar

In short:

New "snapshot mode" marked S on the shutter dial, functions like yout normal P + auto ISO, I guess.

Auto ISO

Exposure compensation by half press of the shutter, while pressed you can dial in +-3 stop of compensation.

EDIT: and it has the new shutter and all the other upgrades installed.. New compact charger, charges to 90% in 90minutes

Maybe he won't be the Norwegian dealer much longer... ;)

Too true - a very well-presented rumour too. The ISO shift would be nice, not much of a sensor change.... It is very convincing. Now we have to wait to see if it is inded a leak or a very smart hoax.

Otoh - it is a kind of compilation of forum-wishes. How much is 42000 Nkr in Euro?

It`s not just a dealer, it`s from the official distributor, so it`s most certainly true. :)

The post on the forum there is now removed, so I suspect someone messed up here.

I have saved all the specs, so I can post them here if the link goes down.

42,000 USD might be a bit ambitious, and as for making the logo more discrete, that's not shown on the photograph.

Maybe he hasn't actually got one to show...

Image framing: By display of two bright-line frames at a time: for 24 and 35 mm, or for 28 and 90 mm, or for 50 and 75 mm. Display selection automatically matches the lens in use. 100% of the sensor format is covered at 0.7 m (LEICA M8.2: 2 m)

Hmmmm.....I can just see the rash of threads "New framelines cut off my subject's heads...shame on Leica!" :o

Hah! Who would believe that price!?

Well, someone is getting their exchange rate economics messed up here. I Euro is 8 NOK, so the price is in excess of 5000 Euro including 25 % Norwegian sales tax.

As had been pointed out by Amund, this is not dealer news but it comes from the Norwegian official importer. Maybe someone has screwed up completely by releasing this info too early, I do not know.

It seems that in principle the M8.2 is the M8 with the upgrades already there.

What do you take this to mean;

"As a response to inquiries from professional photographers have the new model had a more discreet appearance in which Leica logo and blitsskoen has been the same color as the camera. The black model has been given an extra durable dypsvart surface. "

A black or grey Red Dot and maybe the old M6 covering? Blacked out engraving?

It means that the logo and hotshoe will be the same color as the camera.
