Shootist Posted August 28, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 28, 2008 Took some landscape photos this past weekend, and when downloaded I can see 10-12 small dust spots. What are people using to clean the M8's sensor? Thanks Sensor Swipe from Copperhill Images and PEC-Pads with Eclipse 2 solution. I first blow the camber out, with shutter closed, with a Rocket blower then I open the shutter and blow off the sensor and the chanber again then use the swipe to clean the sensor. I personally clean my sensor until I see NO spots at all after a retest. Some others don't think this is necessary, they just clean it once and they're done. But for me why bother cleaning it at all it your not going to get real clean. I also use a Sensor Loupe but with that I only see the bigger spots. Doing a test with a 75mm lens set to infinity and the f/stop set to 16 taking a picture of one of my monitors that doesn't have anything displayed on it shows up where all the little spots are. Marquinius Posted August 30, 2008 Share #4 Posted August 30, 2008 Rocket for blowing, Visible Dust for in between cleaning (but have had some mishaps with smearing), Sensor Swab for real cleaning. Marco
rwfreund Posted September 1, 2008 Share #5 Posted September 1, 2008 Blow it with a bulb blower, and if that fails, go for the sensor swabs. -bob
