stevem7 Posted September 26, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 26, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Had a B&W 8X ND filter on my Noctilux and shot this at F1 during mid day. I like the way the lens rendered the BG on this one.
Advertisement Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Hi stevem7, Take a look here A Noct Shot. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stevem7 Posted September 26, 2006 Author Share #2 Posted September 26, 2006 Two more from the same day
joebt Posted September 26, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 26, 2006 I love the effect on the first one above her head. The last one is also very nice. You have a serious treasure with the combo you have.
fotografr Posted September 26, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 26, 2006 Classic Nocti--just lovely!
stevem7 Posted September 27, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted September 27, 2006 Yes, it should be considered a treasure for the amount this combo cost, and for 35mm! Anyway, thanks for the comments. Here are a couple more from the same day, one inside at night at F1, the other may have been at F1.2..
ddp Posted September 27, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 27, 2006 The last 2 do it for me - that's why I use this lens...nice stuff.
lambroving Posted September 27, 2006 Share #7 Posted September 27, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) #4 works for me. It doesn't exhibit the more unpleasant aspects of lens which make many sea-sick... You been lifting weights lately?
stevem7 Posted September 27, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted September 27, 2006 Thanks. The weight of the Noct does not bother me at all. I used to have a 5D and 85 1.2L - That was MUCH heavier and bulkier and I carried that around for hours at a time. Yea, the Noct is heavier and bigger than the summicron, BUT its not nearly as big as a D2x with 17-55 2.8 lens. I enjoy taking the M7 out with a 50 cron - much lighter and easier to carry around, but the Noctilux is in no way too big. The negatives of this lens are its minimum focus distance and slow focus, BUT its image quality is super from F1-F11.
ddp Posted September 27, 2006 Share #9 Posted September 27, 2006 D2x with a 300 2.8 or 70-200 2.8 makes the Noct seem feather like. Good point you brought up...I like heavy cameras - seems to defeat the purpose of using the M of course. I must now search for sea-sickness inducing Noct images. Good luck with that lens, it is one of my faves.
fernando_b Posted September 27, 2006 Share #10 Posted September 27, 2006 In first image the difference in sharpness is so high that the woman seems a cut and paste from an other one. Whish nocti were available for R too. Fernando.
JHAG Posted September 27, 2006 Share #11 Posted September 27, 2006 First one is absolutely fairy. Last ones are technically stunning. I should have mine within 10 days…
