Ivar B Posted August 12, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 12, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) In the for sale section, under Leica-R, an Elmarit 135mm lens movie lens with Arri mount is for sale. I would very much doubt if anyone except Arri users would be interested in this lens (£ 2000, reported as £ 6000 new), but I have never seen such a lens before. Does anyone know if Leica has started to build lenses for the professional movie industry? Optically, it cannot possible be identical for the "mediocre" old 2.8/135mm? rickp13 Posted August 12, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 12, 2008 hello ivar i didn't know that leica/leitz did arri mount lenses, but zeiss had or has quite a program. here's my 16mm f2 distagon from 1975 with two adapters in aluminum: the longer one is the arri to 39mm LTM, the second is a normal LTM to M adapter. this particular lens was for 35mm film cameras, so it vignettes slightly on the m8. i'll be curious to see what other forum members say about leica's "movie" lenses. greetings from hamburg rick
