OK my plan for a London meet pre One Challenge hasn't happened so far, due to other commitments I've found it hard to find a weekend to suggest, so now I'm thinking of a post challenge meet.

In the meantime, I'm holding an exhibition in London from 22-28 October with a private view on the evening of the 25th. Any forum members in the area are welcome on the night(print this invite) or of course to visit whilst the exhibition is on.

This is an idea I've been working on for a while, born out of the beginning of a collection of old photographs, some of which have formed the basis of the exhibition, of prints on photo paper, canvas and paintings, as well as some of the original images on display.

The exhibition is on at Chelsea Gallery, The Old Town Hall, Kings Road, SW3. More details on my (new/in progress) website Earley Gallery

Brent, why thank you !

I have been collecting old photographs for some years and particularly this genre/period - I had the idea to do something more with the images - originally I was working on some Warholesque idea but my limited experience with photoshop and digital printing has taken me down a different path with it - also many of the images simply stand so well in their own right and don't deserve to be meddled with too much.

There's more info on my website.

Cheers

James

Just seen your post and wish you every success with your exhibition. As it happens I am attending a small re-union (not of WW1 vets I hasten to add!) in Hammersmith on 21st so will try to get to Chelsea for your exhibition on Sunday the 22nd if I can persuade 'er indoors' to come along too!

Good luck

ps just noticed from looking at your web site (very nice BTW) that the exhibition venue is not open on Sundays so I guess you won't be there until Monday 23rd which I regret will be too late for us.

  • 2 weeks later...

Ilan, Brian, many thanks for your good wishes.

I was up til 5am this morning preparing and spent the afternoon hanging the pictures, but at least it's done now!

Anyone who can make it on Wed is welcome or if anyone wants to visit another day let me know and I'll try to be there - otherwise just feel free to pop in if you happen to be in the area and have the time.
