albertwang Posted September 25, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 25, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Okay, looks like Olympus has delivered a photo of their upcoming E-1 pro replacement. It looks sexier although it's slightly bigger than the E-1. Which means that possibly the focusing ground glass is brighter and more suited to manual focusing? I can only hazard a guess. http://www.4-3system.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=
Advertisement Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Hi albertwang, Take a look here Olympus E-3 mockup picture.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sean_reid Posted September 25, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 25, 2006 That will be a very interesting camera and one that I definitely want to review. I'd love to see a successor to the E-1 with better performance at high ISO levels. I think that Olympus is going to become an even more interesting company to Leica owners because of the shared 4/3 standard. Cheers, Sean

rosuna Posted September 25, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 25, 2006 The E-1 was a great camera, and Olympus needed 3 years for this very ugly mockup made of painted clay. I am more and more pessimist about the future of Olympus. The more interesting camera in the 4/3 standard is the L1/Digilux 3, in my opinion. Actually I have more confidence in Panasonic than Olympus.
albertwang Posted September 25, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted September 25, 2006 Actually the E-3 depicts a camera with a large prism finder, no flash. Which means a brighter bigger viewfinder! Manual focusing is good but will they include an electronic rangefinder for such lenses?
