Ivar B Posted September 25, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 25, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I asked Leica which case they would recommend for the MP3, and had the answer that none of the avaialble cases would fit. The reason was in particular the old M3 style strap lugs or Buddha Ears. I thought this was a bit sad as one of course wishes to protect the expensive MP3, but then I learnt that the Italian dealer Luigi Crescenzi at Leicatime Luigi Crescenzi : leica cameras leica compur mp elmar 250 reporter leicavit makes a case for the MP3. I just received the case today, it fits the MP3 perfectly and the quality of the workmanship is excellent as well. I understand he makes very nice cases for other M models also:) Welcome, dear visitor! lincoln_m Posted September 25, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 25, 2006 Good looking case. The Italians do know about beautiful design. My MP has been warn by the Everyready case on the right side when looking from the front as the inside stitching and fold in the leather rubs when I take the camera in and out. As a user I want to hold my expensive camera as nature intended without the leather trousers! After all are we saving the camera for the next buyer or for ourselves? The leather makes a strong case for rough transport to protect body and lens. It looks like this case is a better design for the M than the Everready so it should not damage the covering with many to and throughs. Paul0303 Posted January 14, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 14, 2007 I've just got an MP3 and am looking to buy a Luigi case for it. I think from the picture your case is without Leicavit? Also did you get a Luigi strap or use the leica provided one? I thought the Luigi strap looked quite interesting, probably more comfortable to use. Paul Yes, one cannot use the case with the Leicavit. The strap is the one provided with the MP3 set. I believe it may be identical to the a la carte straps.
