AlanG Posted August 7, 2008 Share #61 Posted August 7, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) What is wrong with the Digilux 3 lenses then? I never said anything was wrong with them. I have no idea how much of this is Leica's doing and how much is Panasonic's. If they make still smaller lenses for the new Micro 4/3rds, so much the better. I think the Micro 4/3rds has the potential (there is no actual camera to discuss) of being an attractive format for those who, at times, value small size and light weight, over absolute maximum image quality. It is only recently that we've expected our 35mm cameras to produce images that previously were made with medium format. And a lot of photos that I and others take will be perfectly adequate if made with one of these. I'm going to South America in about a week and I only plan to bring along a pocket p&s. And of course, if Leica plans to stick with a 1.3x sensor, there is no reason why its lenses couldn't get a bit smaller and lighter whether they incorporate AF or not. As long as buyers don't mind giving up compatibility with legacy FF bodies.
