You should not forget, that sealing a camera can also work against it in a very bad way, that is, trap hi humidity levels inside the camera. If that happens, then you need to have rust resist materials, and we all know how well built is that M8....................

 

What I miss in this thread is that it is vital to remove the battery (and why not sd-card) in the period the camera dries.

 

Even when switched of there are tiny currents running in most digital camera's, and no combination is more corrosive than metal plus electricity.

A few years ago I watched a Canon 1D pack up due to water ingress whilst my Nikon D1X carried on quite happily. Fortunately the 1D revived after a night on top of a radiator. But its still a lottery and don't forget that a sealed camera can seal moisture in as well as out so there are still trade-offs.
