Advertisement Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Hi the warrior, Take a look here Wow !!!, New Leica M8-II Version, Kina 08 ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dcsang Posted July 8, 2008 Share #2  Posted July 8, 2008 Running it through Google Translate you get this very rough translation:  On hearing of the alleged discount of 800 euros per m (, I found rare, very rare, and made some phone calls to two good contacts with information, the result was that the new Leica M8 II is now presented at Photokina.  -- New sensor pity that can not be placed on the chassis of the M8 old. -- New sotware. -- Several retouching in the interior.  Total that anyone who wants a cheap M8 already know where to start looking soon, I think many of whom are now in the closet auction will go fast.  It is not yet over, not price, but not walk very far from the anteiror M8.  Greetings  Why do I suddenly feel like I'm back on DPReview forums ??  Dave
jaapv Posted July 8, 2008 Share #3 Â Posted July 8, 2008 Hmmm.. Those "good well-informed contacts" will be facing lawsuits concerning sums with a surprising number of noughts.. Of course the more sensible explanation of this post is "baseless rumor"...... Having said that, there will be a new digital M coming to the market at one point of time, although probably not this Photokina. No reason for getting all upset. That is the natural order of things. I hope not too many of us will get caught up in the "newest and bestest syndrome", whatever hits the market. The existing M8 will contimue to make more than passable images regardless of the specs of newer offerings. (Although, come to think of it, for Leica's sake one might hope that all M8 users will instantly switch to M9's....I'll be searching dustbins of known switchers in that case...) Vieri Posted July 8, 2008 Share #7 Â Posted July 8, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) C'mon guys, the spanish OP offers this as his own opinion caused by the delayed upgrade; as well in the original spanish there are question marks after all the three supposed new items (nes sensor, new software etc); all in all, not even a rumor IMHO - it's just a supposition from a guy on another forum, and we should take this serious why, exactly? Just because is in another language?

newyorkone Posted July 8, 2008 Share #9 Â Posted July 8, 2008 Whatever... Â Especially since Leica just sent out another announcement about the upgrades. It there was a M8 II then the upgrades would be a moot point.
JumpStart Posted July 8, 2008 Share #10 Â Posted July 8, 2008 Perhaps the M8 II is the M8 with the two upgrades done on it? That would make sense to me. Â DBK
