OK certainly not everyone can only be accomplished with an M8. But people sharing great photos from their M8s is a joy. The real and only reason to have great cameras, and the best glass on the planet..

Alberti Posted June 24, 2008 Share #103  Posted June 24, 2008 A reason is that it so easy to use, even without any postprocessing. This image comes straight from the camera and taken in a fraction of a second during a delightful moment on the terrace. One reason for 6.000 pictures in a year? Class 101 can do with the M8. hoppyman Posted June 24, 2008 Share #110 Â Posted June 24, 2008 #66 Can you provide some tech details on your fabulous shot? Hi Brent, glad you liked it. The M8 sensor really shows you just what the Leica lenses are capable of. It was a shot as a Raw file, using the Leica polariser on the summicron 28 asph. I had in mind a BW conversion when I exposed this one. Exposure adjusted for maximum tonal range (increased in post processing until whites nearly clipped). BW conversion in Photoshop CS3 using deep red filter simulation preset. In the conversion you can click and drag in the actual preview picture on a tone that you want to adjust and see the effect live. So you can adjust the greens/blues/greys independently as here for the look you are after. Magic!

giordano Posted June 25, 2008 Share #119 Â Posted June 25, 2008 #76: I could never point a camera at people on street this close until M8. Â This is nonsense, unless "a camera" means something like "a 10MP digital camera with interchangeable lenses and APS-sized sensor". Ask the people on this forum who use film Leicas, RD-1s and small-sensor digital cameras.
