caparobertsan Posted May 11, 2008 Share #4 Posted May 11, 2008 I want F/F sensor in the M8! I want Fuji CCD=(film like grain+low noise) In the M8! I want FW upgrade for shutter release mode.eg. after release shutter it will not wind shutter until you lift your finger from shutter button. I want Large battery capacity. I have just realized that My fuji F30 compact`s battery has same size battery as M8. No wonder I have never charged that battery!!! I want Holes in front of body like pentax LX so I can attach a custom grip. I want EV compensation lever or button or wheel on top of camera or somewhere logical. Too many wish here but,,,,,, BUT still love My M8! I will not replace with anything else!
Daniel Ortego Posted May 11, 2008 Share #5 Posted May 11, 2008 To be realistic and achievable for a small camera company such as Leica: An on/off power switch with true detents and smooth operation that’s equal to a 3-4 hundred-dollar point n’ shoot. caparobertsan Posted May 11, 2008 Share #6 Posted May 11, 2008 oh and Not even M9 because "8" is lucky number in Chinese culture. I am not Chinese but We have many Chinese here so I happen to know it. I wish they will keep same body for long long time Like Hasselblad H1. H1 is upgradeable to H3D. Riccis Posted May 11, 2008 Share #9 Posted May 11, 2008 One thing that I would love to see (either as an M8 upgrade or in the next M release) is the option to have different viewfinder magnifications... I really want a 0.85 vf
mr_big Posted May 12, 2008 Share #10 Posted May 12, 2008 Better customer service!!!
rwfreund Posted May 12, 2008 Share #11 Posted May 12, 2008 1. Higher initial quality 2. solution of the lens focus mix and match 3. "closed loop" focus confirmation replacing mechanical rangefinder or something else that is easier to maintain 4. better high iso noise performance 5. better dynamic range by 2-3 stops -bob

offshore Posted May 12, 2008 Share #13 Posted May 12, 2008 Put the choice of color or B&W in the working menu and not in the set-up menu. Easy firm ware upgrade so Leica please do this.
chocy0924 Posted May 12, 2008 Share #14 Posted May 12, 2008 1. Quiet Shutter (Available August) 2. 14bit plus files 2. Faster Camera (Faster wake up, file writing/reading speed, format) 3. SDHC complient.. w/ better battery 4. better sensor (Full 35mm would be really nice but not necessary)
caparobertsan Posted May 12, 2008 Share #15 Posted May 12, 2008 and do not forget this. Removable Leica Logo! You can replace with non logo plain or different colour(Kit is included in the box) or custom logo like this one---> or
kdemas Posted May 12, 2008 Share #16 Posted May 12, 2008 I would like to see this as well. I'm with you guys, a .85 finder would be really nice. As mentioned in another thread a while ago I'd love an option to turn on focus confirmation for those times when the eyes just can't quite do it. Interesting thread, everyone has their own needs. marknorton Posted May 12, 2008 Share #17 Posted May 12, 2008 Here goes: FF, reduced IR sensitivity Nikon D3 level high ISO performance 14 bit DR Dual range viewfinder magnification Focussing based on sensing the actual image, closed loop as Bob puts it Electronic framelines (accurate, single, auxiliary backlight) Quieter shutter (coming...) Sapphire or tempered glass (coming also...) Improved processing speed, no more red flashing light Ability to review images while they are being written to the card (the Leica equivalent of being able to walk and chew gum at the same time) SDHC support Improved JPEG quality Docking station for easy image upload/in-camera recharging Leicavit-type clip on base for longer life battery and Wireless LAN connection Improved Shutter Release feel Dedicated buttons for ISO and EV Larger top panel display showing selected ISO/EV New dedicated flash gun APO 16-18-21-24-28-35-50-75-90-135 Deca-Summilux-M ASPH
fefe Posted May 12, 2008 Share #18 Posted May 12, 2008 - FF sensor, with higher DR, and 1-2 stop better from noise perspective - an ISO dial, making the use of the screen not mandatory unless you want to chimp - Faster boot time, half the current one would become unnoticeable - wireless connection to the camera (wifi/bluetooth): unload images faster and simpler, configure more complex things from the PC like upload list of lenses and corrections to apply for them, configure time, date, timezone, default setup for some personalized exif infos, connect to a GPS device. -ability to use uncoded lenses and get DNG that are corrected for color drift and vigneting (and ability to generate your profiles ala cornerfix and upload them to the camera) -SDHC and faster writes -No need for IR block filters, they are a flare nightmare on lenses that usually don't flare (mostly for night shots with strong specular highlights). I'll keep my M8 for IR/UV photography - I don't care about jpeg at all - a new (slimmer ?) visoflex 4 with some electronic connection between the 2 for long lenses/macro.
