albertwang Posted September 11, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 11, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica should develop a 4/3 to M mount adapter that allows the L1 lenses to be fully utilizable on the M8. That would be awesome!

philipotto Posted September 11, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 11, 2006 Why would an M8 owner want to use 4/3 lenses when he/she has a wonderful selection of M lenses to choose from?
lct Posted September 11, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 11, 2006 What about vignetting?
albertwang Posted September 11, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted September 11, 2006 There is no vignetting since the 4/3 lens will be good enough to cover most of the cropped digital sensor... gives it a unique look. True, but it would be a fabulous tool you know. The question is why not?

rosuna Posted September 11, 2006 Share #7 Posted September 11, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Lens to flange distance (LTF) for the 4/3 (38,7mm) > LTF for the M (28mm). The circle of coverage of the 4/3 lens is smaller than the APS-H sensor of the M8 though.
Bob Ross Posted September 11, 2006 Share #8 Posted September 11, 2006 I can see a Visoflex-IV/III in the works... It will have special optical elements to expand the image circle from 22.5mm to 32mm (or even 43.5mm), which Leica will license from Kodak and internal power for the Mega OIS. The question is, can it succeed without Live View?..... Bob
